Librarys Donations

The purpose of this service is to enrich our local libraries with books about Islam.

This project is continuous, as we are continuously donating new materials about Islam to the main library in our city as they become available to us, or as the library requests them.

So far we have donated over 2000 books, booklets, VHS, DVD, and audio tape about Islam to our local libraries in Chattanooga.

Follow the steps outlined here:

Create a list of all the libraries in your area (public, private schools, community colleges, and universities), with their phone number and director's name.
Find out your budget for the whole project.
Divide your budget on the number of libraries, then pick up a list of books those you can donate to each library.
Contact EACH library director, and tell them your project and MAKE SURE to give them the list of books and get their written approval on placing them on the shelf (NOT ACCEPTING THEM ONLY). The libraries will never turn a donation down. BUT accepting the books does not mean they will end up on the shelf unless you have a pre arrangement with the library.
AFTER getting the approval, Order the books: we suggest using - Islamic Books Service: 713-528-1440.or - BOOKSAMILLION.COM
Create and print a sticker with a gift statement and your local address, and stick to the inside cover of each book.
Deliver the books.
In few weeks/months encourage your friends and Muslim community to rent those books, as if a book does not circulate within 6 month to a year it will be taken off the shelf and sold in auction.
Continue to monitor new quality materials about Islam and make sure the main libraries in the area are getting the.
It is a very good idea if you have the budget to subscribe the library to the main Islamic magazines in the USA.
